There has been more hoopla around this young kid than when Martha Stewart was sent to jail. But, unlike with Miss-Betty-crocker-who-lives-in-Linens-N-Things, it seems the general consesus is that this designer is getting what he deserves - a friggin’ hell of a lot of attention.

I know there are some that will critique this show with the usual - its bleak, boring, tired, uninspired, blah, blah, blah. It’s N/Y Fashion week, for god’s sake - I, for one, don’t expect to be seeing theatrical masterpieces of a mystical Miss Moss or a Secret Garden fairytale, a la Mr. McQueen or Mr, Galliano, respectively.
Using a somber palette of cream, grey, nude, and a splash of acid green, Laing sent down a pretty collection of casual daywear and easy cocktail dresses. Volume was shown in assymetrical cut tops and drop-waisted dresses. The look was decidely clean, yet not sterile.
So What? Like I said, nothing life changing, or in this sense, fashion changing, but sometimes, we can’t all be cowboys. That includes you too, Lance Bass….
