New York Fashion week is fully underway and this may be premature, especially since the god-of-all-trends-and-of-all-that-will-become-a-trend, Mr. Marc Jacobs, has yet to show; nonethless, it seems that this season, we are talking about what I like to call “romantically graphic”. The romantic? Pleats, ruffles, pouf, draping. The Graphic? Geometric shapes, clean lines, exaggerated proportions.

The look was shown at Ruffian, Alice Roi, and Karen Walker, to name a few; it is a decidedly mascline-meets-feminine look. In many ways, it is also a fushion of two of fashion’s current style icons, a sort of Twiggy-meets-Marie-Antoinette style.
As always though, by the time Mr. Jacobs’ show rolls around, we could be talking about ghetto-fabulous-meets-80′s-Armani like its going out of style. Must love fashion.

^ youre right! of course it is…which, besdies the “trend-forecasting”, is the point of the post…
…It’s also incredibly entertaining to try anyway…
