NY Fashion Week: Trend #3? Explicitly Rosy…

As explicity stated in this year’s explicitly fashionable movie, The Devil Wears Prada, there is something inherently routine about spring and florals. Like winter and noir, every spring, designers send down more tulips, roses, and begonias than Jennifer Lopez requests at her backstage dressing rooms.

It seems that we have managed, at least to some degree, to retrain the eye to see beauty again in unapologetically dramatic shapes - big, boxy jackets? Super skinny legs? Yet, when it comes to these bright blooms, it seems that nothing can truly compete with the exquisite appeal of the flower.

Whether shown as a colourful print, worn as part of a headband, or swallowing an entire dress - Spring/Summer 2007 is looking to be quite rosy, literally.
