The essence of Moschino is fashion with whimsy. The idea is that fashion should not be taken too seriously; and if this is the intention, this collection served to prove just that. Sending down models with outrageously tanned skin, hair sprayed poufs, and bright, sometimes gaudy accessories, it had all the expected humour of what a Moschino collection should be.

Joking aside, there were some beautiful, red, 50’s-style printed dresses, bow-trimmed cocktail numbers, and an adorable heart-shaped purse. Was it tacky at times? Probably. Was it sophisticated? Not in its entirety. But this is and has always been the essence of Moschino, and this, my friends, is no laughing matter.
