In terms of setting the trends, Miu Miu is always one to watch. This season, Miuccia went for a minimal, colour-blocked collection of uniform-like dresses (a reference to Ms. Prada’s love of the uniform) and no-nonsense, geometric printed, ankle-length dresses.

She played a lot with collars this season, from high, Peter Pan-like versions to multi-strapped and even to boat neck. I thought the colour palette of black, burgundy, navy and purple worked well together and the T-strap, platform, multi-coloured heels were some of the season’s best. I also greatly appreciated that for once, the word tulip didn’t refer to the shape of a skirt, but rather to its petal-like structure. That said, I don’t think Miuccia, for either Prada or Miu Miu, was truly one of the leaders this season. Both collections were forward and pushed some interesting ideas, but weren’t as strong as, say, Balenciaga or Yves Saint Laurent. Though I am sure we will still see this like it’s going out of style (even if it actually is…)
