Some people can only carry off one look. Sienna Miller and boho. Rene Zellweger & Carolina Herrera strapless gowns. Elizabeth Hurley and white boot cut jeans and a floral printed top. Okay, I never said they had to look good.
Nonetheless, leave it to the uber-stunning Diane Kruger to sport two polar looks with such conviction. At Hennessy Presents the “Global Art of Mixing” on October 17, 2006, she opted for a double breasted black coat with black leggings and over-the-knee boots. The look was decidedly tough – think “don’t mess with me vibe” in a Vogue sort of way. Only three days later, at the Van Cleef And Arpels Party In Paris, she sweetens it up in a short, full-skirted dress complete with brooches in the hair. I love how even though the whole “brooches in the hair” was in Vogue 2 years ago (remember grandma chic?), she manages to do it, and do it so well, for that matter.
Now if only we could get Diane to tutor Victoria Beckham…
