So much for retiring! When it was announced that Tim Blanks was leaving Fashion File, every fashion-following Canadian retreated in a collective sadness. Tim (both you and I know, it would only be right to drop the surname when speaking of our fearless fashion leader) is an institutional icon; I grew up with Tim, you grew up with Tim. Like our other national hero bearing the same moniker (Tim Ho’s, that is), Tim Blanks The Personality was just as important as the goods themselves.
So you can only imagine my reaction when I heard he was nabbed by Style.com to report on the menswear shows. If we can’t see Tim, at least we can read Tim, I assured myself.
But things get better! Mr. Blanks has just been appointed to the position of editor-at-large of FLARE magazine. Frankly, the more Tim, the better.
