Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2007/2008

With thick winged eyeliner swiped across lids and a floppy beret leading the path, there was a sense that Marc Jacobs would be exploring the retro glamour we saw in New York at the house of Louis Vuitton. In a sense, it was an amalgamation of the season’s best: long, brightly coloured mohair sweaters, full satin skirts scraping just below the knees, pearlized metallic leather trousers, and supersized cable knits crafted to resemble overgrown roses. Even with the most demure of inspirations, the interplay of colour and texture made it anything but close to your grandmother’s fare. Though when it comes to Marc, such results are nothing but expected.
