Jennifer Connelly in Oscar de la Renta Fall 2007. It reminds me of Cameron Diaz’s Oscar dress except much more tastefully executed. Not her all-time best, but a commendable showing from one of my favourites.Hilary Swank in Bottega Venetta Fall 2007 at “The Reaping” photocall in Barcelona. Redeeming herself after the horrid red-belted number, this is both classic and remarkably off-the-moment. Great accessories, I must add.
Finally, we have Chloe Sevigny in Emanuel Ungaro at the Mercedes-Benz Presents Andy Warhol at Drive In Studios. The obvious is that you’ve passed a close relative of this dress in at least one of your local thrift shops. For something that reeks so explicitly of the 80s, Chloe manages to add a bit of needed novelty. I see where she was going, but I don’t know if we’re there - just yet. An applauded attempt.
