An audible gasp was heard from fashionables worldwide as news and photos quickly spread that the upcoming May issue of US Vogue would boast a slew of the industry’s top models on its cover. Included in the group? Caroline Trentini, Doutzen Kroes, Chanel Iman, Raquel Zimmermann, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam, Agyness Deyn, Sasha Pivovarova, Hilary Rhoda, and Lily Donaldson. Of noticeable absence are Freja and Irina, and while many are sneering at the inclusion of Iman, I offer the reminder that she is sixteen-freakin’-years-old. You’d be that smug if you were in her shoes.
The last time US Vogue featured a multi-model spread was on the all important September issue in 2004.
