The Toronto Star (http://www.thestar.com/Life/article/204652) is reporting that the Telecaster Services of the Television Bureau of Canada has banned Chanel’s Rouge Allure tv ad featuring Julie Ordon sprawling around bed in her birthday suit, reminiscent of Bardot in Le Mepris. Frankly, it’s quite surprising. While our American counterparts quickly turned down Dove’s recent spots showing mature women with strategically placed limbs, it seemed to be of no issue to us Northerners. Obviously we’re not as liberal - or as appreciative of beauty, it seems - as I had thought.

not only is it tastefully done [but did i expect anything less from the house?], but it did its job as well.. i’d buy that product. in multiples. it isn’t really my colour.. being a man and all.. but nevertheless, there was no need to not feature the commercial in canada.
