I’m baby-doll fatigued. I don’t want to see any more empire waists, “cute” little jumpers, and 60s shifts. Opt instead for 40’s chic with this tied black dress with modern silver details (www.bluefly.com). Pair it with Tribute-style ankle-strap platforms from Aldo (yes, I’m also tired of all these similar-looking footwear options) and a stunning boxed clutch. Le piece de resistance is the Lilliput hat (www.lilliputhats.com) for a Parisian modernity paling - you guessed it - yet another babydoll.

I havent been a fan of Ms Burch myself.. i felt she was kind of one dimensional when she first debuted, but as of late, her clothes have become a little bit more editorial worthy. This dress in particular isn’t the boho-mess ive come to expect from Tory, but still the accessories are the saving graces to this outfit for me. the style of the dress influences the fantastic hat, box clutch and the inevitable shoe choice. (seriously, who stole footwear?) Take a hint Madge, this is how you do a period inspired outfit without looking like you belong in an Eric Prydz video. overall a great sophisticated ensemble, even reminiscent of Proenza Schouler f/w07
