Women’s Wear Daily is reporting that Jessica Simpson is expanding the breadth of her signature offering to include sunglasses, swimwear and lingerie come fall. In other words, expect more life-sized Barbie accouterments encumbering shelves in the near future.
News reports are indicating that the Gucci brand (not Group) scored a 4.4% increase in sales during the 1st quarter of 2007, particularly benefiting from strong growth in leather goods. Without further analysis, it would seem that Ginannini’s (right)neurotic inconsistencies may be easier to swallow for consumers than fashion critics. Although as a corp finance student, I’ll be the first to suggest sales are only one piece of the ‘luxury’ puzzle.
