^that was the point. that perhaps in all my squareness, i have a little rebel in me too. add to that the fact that it is not expected anymore. youth are suppose to like grandpa/grandma-chic styles. so noen may not necessarily mean I am "dressing my age".

i was little confused by the article because you start saying you don't dress your age and then end it with wearing neon t-shirt.

the uniform of the majority of students here are PJ bottoms and ill fitting shirts with crocs or uggs.. which easily lends to the imagination that a lot of them also dont shower... this may seem redundant but most of the era defining looks came out of sophistication or rebellion, and there were very strict caste systems in place. in a time as liberal as our generation lives in, freedom of speech gets into bed with freedom of style and there's not an eyebrow to be raised [unless of course your pants are flannel and adorned with sponge-bob and friends].
so if it's looked at from the liberal aspect, would it be the worst to not be able to pinpoint our generation to a specific look?
lol then again maybe its because our decade is almost non-existant in and of itself.. she's so 50s, thats so 80s, i'm bringin' sixties back.. but us... that looks is soooo ... double 0?

What an amazing and plenty explanatory column. I live in Portugal, and around here you can't actually feel fashion in the air. Youthful, young fashion here means bootcut jeans, Vans slip-ons and sweaters from every fashion label you can imagine. And I hate it. This morning I woke up very late, so I just put a pair Converse All Star, some skinny cigarette pants, a slim-cut white shirt and a grunge-styled jacket. And everyone was staring at me at school, like I was an alien or something.. Wrong, wrong.

I think there is no age for rebellion. Look at Anna Piaggi - she's still a rebel. It's about your style, not about your age. Nu rave is very polemic, I think.
