Expect a more text-burdened, less “edgy” cover to hit the news stands. That said, I’m pleasantly surprised I can forgo the conscious need to suspend disbelief when thinking of Anne as “fashionable”. I’m not sure if such thinking is a result of her skillful portrayal of a fashion novice in the Devil Wears Prada or Ms. Fields’ pathetic attempt at a swan-like transformation. This, however, is believable.

love it - she looks hawt!
thank goodness they put someone worthy on the Harper’s cover after last month’s Paris/Nicole fiasco….
Love how the cover has no coverlines. They should ALL be like that!
i too love the fact that this cover is sans “catch a glimpse” text vomit. i of course decided not to subscribe [even though ive bought pretty much every issue for the past year and a half].. and will miss out on this cover. i used to be indifferent because they used to put the subscriber cover within the spread so there was really no harm/foul. but they didn’t do it with Gwen’s amazing cover, so i missed out on the galliano confection and should’ve really learned my lesson. =*(
who styled and shot this cover? looks like lindbergh behind the lense. i’m getting sick of all of his celeb-centric edits and consequently his work, which is a shame since i’ve been a big fan of his and HB subscriber since the early 90s.
i think the whole subscriber/ newsstand cover thing is a gimmicky creative cop-out and both covers are equally gag-inducing in their presentations.
the only reason i even open HB is because of Melanie Ward who actually pushes fashion boundaries (yet her work is never feautred on the cover)and Brana Wolf who, so skillfully mixes timelessnes and trendiness.
Bailey and Gan are putting HB to shame. I miss Tilberis/Baron.
I think Vreeland, Snow would be appalled.
under Tilberis/Baron 90s minimalism translated into eye-catching yet refreshingly simple covers/layout…
