For the past two weeks, I’ve been despondent without my beloved Macbook Pro, trapped in the existential style vaccuum that is Boston with nary a connection to the world outside. Thank God I have well-dressed friends that shield me from such common summer gaffes as cargo shorts (STILL?) and flip-flops on city streets (GAG).
So now I’m back, and ready to push fashionverbatim forward into the next chapter. I’ve been meaning to ask you all, what would you like to see more of here? Street style? Celebrity fashion do’s and don’ts? You know….just give me some hints! I ALSO WELCOME CREATIVES, ARTISTS, AND UP-AND-COMING DESIGNERS (even if you’re the only one who considers yourself an up-and-comer, f*** it) to e-mail me your best (ihatestyle[at]gmail). No promises I’ll like, but I’ll always look, and you could end up here…
One thing I want to steer AWAY from is being a feed of what’s buzzy/obvious in the industry. You can find that anywhere, and I’m not going to pretend that living in Boston puts my finger right on the pulse of breaking news. What I CAN offer you is a personal look at style as I define and see it, unconstrained by “credentials” and the forced ass-kissing they often perpetuate. I’ve also noticed a tendency towards diplomacy in my posts, and I may just buck that off and start bringing more acerbic wit to the table.
As one woman with many opinions, I encourage you to always form your own; embrace and create style the way YOU see it.
