We think the 2010 SAG Awards red carpet put the Golden Globes red carpet to shame…
Nicole Kidman may not have walked the red carpet but we love that the Australian actress went for a dress with colour. This exotically beautiful dress was by Oscar de la Renta with beautiful bronze, pink and blue embellishments making it sparkle as the bright stage lights hit it. Love.
Meanwhile her Nine costar Kate Hudson looked sophisticated and sexy in this backless Emilio Pucci dress. I love the sleek line with the crystal embellishments on the hit and the sleek up do lets the dress show off her angular frame. We just wish we had room for a back shot.
It’s been a while since Sandra Bullock wow’d us on the red carpet and we have to admit even we were surprised to read that she was wearing Alexander McQueen. The blue sequin embellishment and key hole detail was the perfect offset to the long black gown which looked amazing on her.
These three women are my top three looks, showing women (and girls) that sequins and embellishments can be worn at any age, as long as you do it with class and style. See more SAG awards red carpet looks below.

It seems that SAG awards night was to be one of unexpected designer-actress pairings with Meryl Streep donning a Balenciaga satin print gown. The look was fresh and lively on the red carpet – a refreshing change from some gowns older actresses get to wear these days.
Drew Barrymore tried something different with her Monique Lhullier gown, we love the sweetheart neckline, double tiered detail and the royal blue colour… but we couldn’t understand her drab make up. While the hair was great, Drew’s face looks so washed out that we kind of love/hate this look.
As unexpected pairings go, here’s another one for you… Alexander McQueen on Anna Paquin. She’s not known for her edgy fashion sense, but perhaps she took a leaf out of Camilla Belle’s guide book and tried something different. We can’t say we love it but but an up-do could have let the dress shine.
Last but not least, Diane Kruger turns up the glam factor up a notch or two in this mustard coloured Jason Wu one shouldered gown. While the dress is stunning, the colour and the off-shoulder look reminds us all too much of Michelle Williams’ Vera Wang dress at the 2006 Oscar’s so Kruger loses half a salt shaker for originality.
