  Yes, it's true, Kris Van Assche will replace Hedi Slimane as the artistic director of Dior Homme. The split is said to be the result of Dior "fed up" with Slimane's demands.And while Van Assche is a close substitute for Slimane, it will be interesting to see what happens to this iconic brand. Fashion ethusiastics proudly boast that the noughties will be as an era that turned its back on the "celebrity designer" - except maybe Lagerfeld - but in the realm of menswear, Slimane was as close as it got.   A behind-the-scenes peak at the making of Kate's collection for Topshop. On the table for discussion included ankle length moccasins (um..... didnt we do those in 2006?), denim with back pockets designed after Kate's tattoos, and maxi-length prairie dresses (once again...2006?). And - a rare occasion - we get to hear the elusive Moss chat about fittings and fabrics. That said, the pieces here look rather commonplace. Hopefully they are keeping the standouts hush-hush.

  Brace yourselves former Cloak fans - it's true. Yes, according to Fashion Wire Daily,"Donatella Versace has found herself a new man - and a Russian one at that. Alexandre Plokhov, who shuttered his Cloak Designs, L.L.C. business in December, has been tapped as a consultant on the men's wear and accessories lines at Versace SpA, the fashion house confirmed. 'He has been hired as a consultant to strengthen the existing design team," a spokeswoman for Versace said - and no doubt help the brand carve out a larger niche in the men's market."Wow.   Is this commercial a metaphor for the expected, and rather unwarranted, madness that may ensue when the line hits shelves? Or simply a euphemism for the fact that Madonna is years beyond her fashion prime and her tired tracksuit-meets-dominatrix shtick has driven both management and shoppers to the pointy of lunacy?
