Over the course of the next week, I’ll be featuring different outfits of my dear friend (dating back to pre-fashion enlightenment…grade 6?), Laura May.
Laura is a 20-year-old photography student at Ryerson University. Her style and passion for fashion is infectious. While her inspirations are broad and ever-evolving, it always somehow goes back to this hard-edged, sometimes gothic, romanticism. I guess the best way to explain it is that this is the girl who wears heels 23 hours a day, but dreamed of being a truck driver during elementary school. This is the girl who could stop traffic, but could also probably fix the stalled car creating some.
I”ve been bothering her for quite some time to pose for some pictures (me = unskilled photographer, her = equally as unskilled model) and we finally got around to doing it. These pictures, shot against a white background in her home studio, reflect our mini-fashion collaboration.
Note: Ths stern, cold face is not Laura at all, but incredibly more fitting than the deranged crazy face that knowingly appears in 99.9% of her photos. I hope you all enjoy!
