I think I just don’t like a buff Marc Jacobs. I mean, since he has thinned out and toned up, his collections have been less than stellar for me. First, I was appalled by his S/S 2007 collection for his namesake line in NY and now his Louis Vuitton S/S 2007 collection is simply to frilly for my liking. Don’t get me wrong, this French, deconstructed/patchwork prairie-girl-look is very cute, and all the flowers are charming, but I just feel that we are ready for something harder (Please, slap me for sounding like Miuccia!).

There were skirts with flower prints and tulle, cute (if not rehashed) cutout, oval-shaped heels on the sandals, and easy drawstrings on nearly everything. Think loose and girly. I also LOVED the muted, washed-out colour palette of pinks, greys, white and black. All in all, I felt like this was another collection where the styling was not up to par, even if it was miles better than what he showed in NY. That said, will girls flock to this like a naked Justin Timberlake? You bet. Do I want Marc Jacobs to eat a Big Mac? Uh Huh.

I think he’s OK. I usually like his designs but have that kind of ‘I’d like that if something was slightly different about it’ whether it’s texture, fabric or colour.
