What to Wear Now: The Movies

Ahh… the movies. Just because the lights are out 90% of the time, it doesn’t mean you should dress like your going to pick up milk. That said, two things are critical to remember when picking an outfit: (a) unless you decide to clog your arteries with the butter-drenched popcorn and Twizzlers, you’ll be sitting. What does this mean? The higher the heel, the better! and (b) unless you have a date, expect to be cold. I suggest wearing a basic pair of skinny Stella McCartney jeans and pairing it with an A-line top (www.urbanoutfitters.com) and a cozy, cable knit wrap (www.nordstrm.com). A bit of sex via patent Mary Janes never hurt anybody and a big leather bag is perfect if you want to sneak in some healthy, and less expensive, food options (I use Laura for this all the time… fruit, celery, air popped popcorn…you name it, I shove it in her bag!)

What’s the upside to dressing great? If the movie’s a bore, I’m sure a great pair of shoes can keep you preoccupied the entire time.
