Okay, chances are you don’t go to the symphony that often. With that in mind, make Raf/Jil proud with this starkly minimal outfit that incorporates items you already have in your closet. Start with a well cut, slim shirt (aka not cheap - minimal requires quality) that you button all the way up (yes, the air tie…). Tuck it into (this is the symphony) a floor-grazing satin skirt (www.topshop.com). For shoes, keep it simple in platform black pumps and for added texture a faux fur bag (www.amazon.com) fits the bill. Tie your hair back into a sleek pony and opt for a daring red lip. Severe? You bet. Chic? Painfully.
aww, too bad you posted this after i got back from the symphony.

severe and yet essential. a fantastic look. it’s very current american Vogue cover and i’m sure Raf would be tickled [the palest shade of] pink when he sees this minimalist’s dream of an ensemble

Just make sure you don’t wear something this formal on a friday night, so I don’t have to walk up to a balcony to mock all the overdressed concert goers.

a wonderful, very jil look, but isn’t all that covered skin (even with the sleeves rolled up) and a fur bag a bit wintery?

^i imagined the symphony to be at night. i also think the fabrics would be light.
